I have worked as a social worker for over 30 years.

Credentials:   I have a BA in social work from Christopher Newport College and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Minnesota.  I have also fulfilled the educational and internship requirements to become a nursing home administrator. I have earned a certificate for being an assisted living administrator in Iowa (but this is no longer active).  I am licensed in Iowa at the highest level for social workers:  Licensed Independent Social Worker.

Work settings: I have worked in many settings over the years including 1/2 way houses (treatment homes) for adults with mental illnesses, domestic violence shelters, crisis lines/hot lines, homeless shelters, nursing homes, home care, and hospitals.  I have worked with people grappling with many different issues such as mental health issues, addiction issues, housing needs, elder care needs, help with domestic violence, and all types of advocacy needs.  During 25 plus years before I started Aging Pathways, LLC, I had the privilege to work for Elder Concerns, LC, a great Geriatric Care Management agency.  I credit Mary Alice, social worker, owner of Elder Concerns, LC,  and friend for providing me with the skills and confidence to try this new endeavor at Aging Pathways, LLC.
